Twinkies do NOT have an indefinite shelf life.

A couple popular (untrue) twinkie facts:

~They remain edible for anywhere between 50 and 100 years.
~They have a shelf-life that lasts longer than their cellophane wrapper.
~They are not baked, but instead they are made through a chemical reaction that produces a foam.
~They contain a chemical present in embalming fluid.

Contrary to popular belief (and the movie Zombieland!), Twinkies only stay good for about 25 days. That's still very long for a cream-filled pastry. That's because Twinkies don't actually contain any dairy products.
