Some ants can make themselves EXPLODE
Ants are very cooperative creatures who will put themselves at risk to protect their nest. An extreme example of this is the Camponotus saundersi, a species of ant that self-destructs as a defense mechanism.
They carry sacks of sticky poison all around their body. When threatened, these ants detonate, spreading poison everywhere. The ant dies, but it is an effective way to scare of predators. (source)
